NON PLACE COLLECTIVE is an ever-expanding group of artists, individually responding to the place of transience whilst retaining the authorship of a collective. Our collective's rationale is to invite artists to individually respond to the spaces that Marc Augé called non-places such as transient spaces or anonymous environments. The aim is to take ownership of where and how artists exhibit their work. Instead of relying on the traditional gallery routes, we offer an opportunity to work in non-place locations. Curating the space though a collaborative approach, gives the participants the confidence to think about places that are appropriate for their work. Artists who face challenges of how and where they can exhibit, have the support of the collective. Collaboration encourages inclusivity whilst celebrating uniqueness.
Non Place Collective was founded in Cardiff by Julie Lane, Lisa Sanders, Robert Oros, Marina Iodice in 2019.
